Gloria and Joel’s Woodside CA engagement photos were such a dream to capture. We made an evening of it, starting at the ever-beautiful Pulgas Water Temple, where the light was soft and glowy — perfect for those romantic first shots.
From there, we headed to Filoli Gardens, the heart of their session. With its lush blooms and timeless architecture, it gave their photos such a romantic and classic feel, especially with Gloria’s stunning dress. She looked absolutely breathtaking, and it truly was the perfect outfit for every location we explored.
We wrapped up our session in Downtown Redwood City for something more playful and fun, grabbing ice cream at Humphry Slocombe (highly recommend if you’ve never been!) and capturing candid moments of them just being their joyful, goofy selves.
We even ran into one of Joel’s friends who works downtown, and he surprised them with drinks on the house. Naturally, we had to incorporate that moment into a few modern bar-style photos that felt very “them.”
After the shoot, we all went out for dinner. Dim sum, potstickers, and so much good Chinese food, just catching up on life and chatting about their upcoming wedding. I actually met Gloria back at Chico State. We were both in Alpha Omicron Pi and it’s been so special reconnecting in this season of her life.
Getting to document their love story from engagement to wedding day means the world to me. I already know their celebration at Casa Real at Ruby Hill Winery next year is going to be nothing short of incredible.
Gloria and Joel, I’m so excited for everything ahead!

Then you’ll love to see this classic and vintage version at the same location!
