This Big Sur Proposal at COAST Big Sur was one for the books! When Hugo told us he wanted to propose to Gabby and have us capture the moment, we were thrilled! Our first surprise proposal and we couldn’t imagine anyone better than Matt’s very own Fraternity Brother.
One of my favorite part about this day was helping Hugo plan the day. As booked as our schedule was in October and November, we couldn’t pass on this – so we made it happen.
October 31, 2021 was the only day we had available and Hugo had already planned a trip to Monterey with Gabby. This was the perfect distraction in a surprise proposal.
We met at COAST Big Sur at a table near them overlooking the Pacific Ocean. We haven’t officially met Gabby so she had no idea who we were. Which was perfect because we got to be nearby and still secretive with out cameras.
The night before we were on the call with Hugo about some clues that hinted us that he was ready to pop the question. Hugo got up to throw away their breakfast and looked over to us at the next table and we knew it was game time!
He explained why there was champagne on the table. With them going a month without seeing one another because of long distance and work, he thought some bubbly was the perfect celebration. That’s when he went down on one knee!
After the proposal, we introduced ourselves to Gabby and shared some drinks with them before heading to Carmel. Gabby and Hugo loves Carmel By the Sea and wanted their engagement photos near all the Spanish buildings and beach.
It surely was an eventful day and we are happy to have been a part of it all! Congratulations Gabby and Hugo on your engagement.
